About Me

My photo
Emotions and Colours inspire my form of work, a natural response to the world around me. The form I use is mainly oils, but also gold leaf and natural wood. Some paintings are formed from dreams or music or the way I am feeling. I am a firm believer in going with the flow, whether it be the Gold Collection or something that's totally abstract, like the sculptures 'Man' or 'Fish'. Often, I am asked to undertake commissions which include a meaning - such as dreams or even my interpretation of an animal, albeit abstract but the bottom line is I create my image of a subject, such as 'Wasp' or 'Catherine'. I have a studio at home, surrounded by fields and my 3 border Collies, Potty, Booby and Tink who laze about on sofas and pretend to be interested in what I am doing. The titles of the paintings are what I see. But on many occasions people see something different - which is great, because everyone's imagination is unique. When you look at my work, close your eyes, then open them again - stand back and allow yourself to experience some of the emotions I felt when creating and completing the work.

Bury Exhibition - St Edmundsbury Cathedral 18th Feb

Last night, 18th Feb.
Opening Night, Private view.
Premier exhibition of my latest work, including 2011 and Gold collections. Night was fantastic success, with good friends and new faces blended perfectly - glad to see I can still pull a crowd!
Had some wonderful comments and feedback, particularly for 'Night Sea' and 'Calm before the Storm'.
I've found the Cathedral Gallery lends itself perfectly to the work, the space and lighting is a joy.
The paintings look fantastic, the vibrant colours of the 2010 Collection jump and the tiny little hidden details of 2011 glitter.
Now have the herculean feat of uploading and editing the over 400 shots taken by my photographer!
Will be on the website soon as.
